Adobe Premiere (formerly Premiere Pro) costs [US$22.99 a month on the US single-app plan](https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/plans.html?ref=premiereproclub.com), with an annual commitment billed monthly. Month to month, it's US$34.49; paying the whole year upfront costs US$263.88\. There's no one-time purchase for desktop Premiere, so the real price is that number plus the commitment you sign and what it costs to leave.

My default for anyone who edits most weeks is the annual plan billed monthly: US$275.88 over twelve months, against US$413.88 for twelve month-to-month payments. For a one-off client job I'd pay the US$34.49 rate instead. The extra US$11.50 a month buys an exit with no early-cancellation fee.

![Three Premiere billing options: month to month at US$34.49/mo with no early fee, annual billed monthly at US$22.99/mo with a 50% fee on what's left in year one, and annual prepaid at US$263.88 with no refund after 14 days.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/77/55/77555393-c1bd-4bdb-8b52-1f1199ed8675/content/images/2026/11/premiere-pro-price-billing-options.webp)

Each billing option trades a lower rate for a harder exit, and all three get a full refund within 14 days of a paid order. ## US prices, year one and year two

Every number here is the US card rate before tax. Year two assumes Adobe keeps today's rate; its terms let it change the rate at each annual renewal, with notice and the option to cancel.

| Plan | Year one | Year two at today's rate | Commitment |
| ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------ | ------------------------------- |
| Premiere, annual billed monthly | US$22.99/mo (US$275.88) | US$22.99/mo (US$275.88) | 12 months, then monthly renewal |
| Premiere, month to month | US$34.49/mo (US$413.88 for 12) | Same rate | One month at a time |
| Premiere, annual prepaid | US$263.88 once | US$263.88 at renewal | 12 months, paid upfront |
| Creative Cloud Pro | US$34.99/mo for 3 months, then US$69.99 (US$734.88) | US$69.99/mo (US$839.88) | 12 months, billed monthly |
| Creative Cloud Pro, students and teachers | US$19.99/mo (US$239.88) | US$39.99/mo (US$479.88) | 12 months, eligibility required |
| Premiere for teams | US$37.99/mo per license | Then-current rate | 12 months per license |

The first-year discounts sit on the bundle, not on Premiere alone. The [Creative Cloud Pro offer terms](https://www.adobe.com/offer-terms/cc-full-special-offer.html?ref=premiereproclub.com) give first-time subscribers US$34.99 for three months, then the current US$69.99 rate, with a 12-month commitment. Students pay US$19.99 for the first year and then the listed US$39.99.

Google's snippet for Adobe's product page has shown "First year only. New subscribers only." beside US$22.99\. On that page the note links to the Creative Cloud Pro offer terms, and the plans page lists the single app with no such tag. Some third-party pricing pages in the same results still quote US$20.99 a month and US$239.88 a year; budget from Adobe's current card instead.

## What happens after the first year

Under Adobe's [US subscription terms](https://www.adobe.com/legal/subscription-terms.html?ref=premiereproclub.com), an annual plan billed monthly renews on a monthly basis after the first year until you cancel. You're charged the then-current rate for your plan, and a rate change has to come with a notice and the option to cancel. With no notice, I'd budget US$22.99 a month for year two.

- **Annual prepaid** renews for another prepaid year at the then-current rate.
- **Month to month** keeps renewing each month at the then-current rate.
- **Creative Cloud Pro** stays at US$69.99 after the three promo months, so its second year costs US$839.88 at that rate.
- **Students** move to the listed US$39.99 after the first year, and Adobe can recheck education eligibility.

## Monthly, annual or prepaid

The three billing options buy the same app. What changes is the commitment and the exit.

- **Month to month, US$34.49:** the highest rate and the cleanest exit. It's the one I'd pick for a single job with a fixed end date.
- **Annual billed monthly, US$22.99:** the cheapest way to pay as you go, but it's a 12-month contract. Stopping early is a cancellation with a fee, not a pause.
- **Annual prepaid, US$263.88:** US$12 less than twelve monthly payments, or US$21.99 a month. You pay it once, and after the 14-day refund window the money stays with Adobe even if you stop editing.

I'd only prepay when the year of work is already booked. Twelve dollars is a small saving against losing the whole payment if the editing stops in month three.

## Premiere alone or Creative Cloud Pro

Creative Cloud Pro adds 20+ creative apps, Photoshop and After Effects among them. At the card rates, its first year costs US$459 more than twelve Premiere payments, and the gap grows to US$564 in year two. I'd pay that only when [After Effects](https://premiereproclub.com/after-effects-vs-premiere-pro/) or Photoshop is already part of the job. If the timeline finishes in Premiere, the single app is the right buy, however close the three promo months look.

![Two-year costs at US card rates: Premiere annual US$275.88 in both years, month to month US$413.88 in both years, Creative Cloud Pro US$734.88 then US$839.88, student Creative Cloud Pro US$239.88 then US$479.88.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/77/55/77555393-c1bd-4bdb-8b52-1f1199ed8675/content/images/2026/11/premiere-pro-price-two-year-cost.webp)

Year two assumes today's rates. The student bundle undercuts Premiere alone only in year one. [Open the full-size two-year cost chart](https://storage.ghost.io/c/77/55/77555393-c1bd-4bdb-8b52-1f1199ed8675/content/images/2026/11/premiere-pro-price-two-year-cost.webp?ref=premiereproclub.com).

Students are the exception. An eligible student pays US$19.99 for the whole bundle in the first year, less than anyone pays for Premiere alone. The offer needs eligible education status and a first-time membership. Put the US$39.99 second-year rate in the budget too, because that's where it flips back above the single app.

Teams pay US$37.99 per license, so three editors run US$113.97 a month before tax. Every license is part of the annual commitment, and the team plan's cancellation goes through Adobe Customer Support. Keep a business order separate from a personal plan.

## What leaving early costs

Bought directly from Adobe in the US, each plan gets a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of the initial order. After that, the cost depends on the contract.

- **Month to month:** the current payment is nonrefundable, and access runs to the end of that billing month.
- **Annual billed monthly:** cancelling during the first year costs 50% of the remaining contract obligation. California has its own clause: 30% of the annual commitment. Access runs to the end of that billing month.
- **Annual prepaid:** no refund after 14 days, but access runs through the paid term.
- **Students and teachers:** the same 14-day refund, 50% fee and California 30% clause as the individual annual plan.
- **Teams:** a full refund within 14 days, then 50% of the remaining obligation, handled by Customer Support.

Here's the math on the main plan. With six US$22.99 payments left, the remaining obligation is US$137.94, so the fee is US$68.97 before tax. That 50% figure belongs to the initial annual obligation; once the plan has rolled into monthly renewal after year one, read the renewal notice for the terms that apply.

![Exit timeline for the annual plan billed monthly: full refund up to day 14, a fee of 50% of the remaining payments for the rest of year one (30% of the annual commitment in California), then monthly renewal at the then-current rate after month 12.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/77/55/77555393-c1bd-4bdb-8b52-1f1199ed8675/content/images/2026/11/premiere-pro-price-exit-timeline.webp)

On the annual plan billed monthly, the early-exit fee shrinks as the remaining payments run down. [Open the full-size exit timeline](https://storage.ghost.io/c/77/55/77555393-c1bd-4bdb-8b52-1f1199ed8675/content/images/2026/11/premiere-pro-price-exit-timeline.webp?ref=premiereproclub.com).

For a plan bought from Adobe, the [cancellation guide](https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/cancel-subscription.html?ref=premiereproclub.com) starts at **Plans and payment > Manage plan > Cancel your plan**. Review the cancellation details, confirm, then check the confirmation email or your account. Each plan cancels separately. A subscription billed through Apple, Google or Microsoft cancels through that provider instead.

## The trial clock and the free phone app

The [desktop trial runs seven days](https://premiereproclub.com/premiere-pro-free-trial/) and converts to a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends. That seven-day deadline is separate from the 14-day refund window on a paid order, so cancel inside the trial if you don't want the first charge. If you're testing whether your computer copes, [check the specs](https://premiereproclub.com/premiere-pro-system-requirements/) before the seven days start.

The phone app is a separate offer. Adobe's [Android launch](https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2026/09/22/adobe-premiere-expands-android-fast-powerful-easy-mobile-video-editing?ref=premiereproclub.com) gives free mobile editing with exports up to 4K, with paid upgrades for credits and storage. Desktop Premiere stays a paid subscription.

## Before the subscription ends

Most [paid Creative Cloud apps stop working](https://helpx.adobe.com/account/individual/terms-policies-and-regulations/adobe-subscription-terms.html?ref=premiereproclub.com) once access ends, and the free account keeps 5GB of cloud storage. If your cloud files exceed that, Adobe gives you 30 days to move them. Keep the original media in the same folder structure as the project files, so a later reopen doesn't greet you with [media offline](https://premiereproclub.com/media-offline-premiere-pro/) clips.

Then play the final export in the player it's going to, while you still have time to fix the cut, the sound or the captions.
